Candy or Condiment?
Ben and Vid were tired of all those sickly-sweet, corn syrup-packed spreads claiming to be not only mustard but mustard made with honey and they had a novel idea to make their own REAL mustard recipe and use REAL honey to sweeten it. Crazy, we know. Sure, it wasn't as cost effective but you could taste the difference immediately. They believed a mustard should taste like mustard first, then started adding in the honey to give it just the right sweetness without feeling like you were going to lose your foot once your salad was finished.
A Sauce Anyone Can Get Bee-hind
Honey Mustard was one of our earliest attempts at branching out from hot sauces and you could see a spike in interest in our booths out at shows and festivals. Now, while the brave souls challenged themselves with Slaughter and Zombie Apocalypse, those with a more sensitive constitution could feel unafraid to step up to the table and try something completely mild. We had successfully bridged the gap and while everyone and their brother would side-eye the honey mustard and get real skeptical when we told them it wasn't spicy, it wasn't long before they were grabbing a few bottles for themselves and a few more for the grandparents.
